ABOUT TED

Ted Amberg began performing magic when he was 14 years old after discovering a book about magic tricks at a local bookstore. His new hobby soon turned to a great way to earn money during high school and college. Ted could often be found in the halls of his high school trying out new tricks for any student that would watch.

His first job was selling magic tricks at a theme park magic shop. He also performed 7 shows a day on stage to help promote the shop. Hundreds of shows later, Ted had shaped his magic persona.

He traveled the country performing at schools as well as corporate events and fairs. It was at the Arkansas State fair that he learned a valuable lesson about audience management when was nearly decapitated by a large blade thrown by an onstage spectator!

Ted has been well regarded by magicians around the world and he has traveled extensively, lecturing on magic and teaching other magicians some of the magic that has helped shape his career.

Ted found himself so busy that he created his own talent agency that booked out other magicians as well as many other types of acts. This soon led into the creation of a full service “turn-key” agency called Amberg Entertainment that provided entertainment, games, rides, catering and more to corporate events all over the country.

Ted has performed thousands of shows and many of the effects he performs are one of a kind created by him. His magic has been featured on MTV, Nickelodeon, and Good Morning America. Ted’s first love has always been performing and he has recently created many new effects that will both mystify the audience as well as keep them laughing.
